Released: September 9, 2025
Overview
Ambassador 3.0 is the first release on our rebuilt platform. It introduces a modern admin experience , a completely redesigned automation engine, a new rewards and payments system, a widget platform for advocate-facing experiences, and the Journeys framework for modeling the advocate lifecycle. Most product surfaces — workflows, campaigns, rewards, loyalty, landing pages, and email templates — were rebuilt from the ground up to give you more flexibility, better reliability, and a consistent experience across the platform.
What's New
Admin 3 & a new navigation experience. A redesigned left-nav and top bar, reorganized settings, and a streamlined in-product navigation that works consistently across every area of the platform. Existing Admin 2 pages were progressively migrated so that customers on the 3.0 flag see the new experience everywhere.
New automation engine ("Automations"). Workflows were re-platformed on a new node-graph engine that supports branching logic, per-trigger conditions, and container nodes that iterate over groups of records. You can now clone automations, save automations as templates, start new automations from templates, and see detailed execution logs with contact email and external ID directly on each run. New 3.0 triggers and outcomes cover campaigns, rewards, journeys, referral attribution, and portal events.
Journeys. A brand-new way to model how advocates progress through your program. Journeys include a dashboard with activity and performance views, an integrated contact-profile section, bulk-update support from the contact table, and full Salesforce integration so your CRM can trigger and read journey transitions.
Rewards & Payments — rebuilt. A new rewards system replaces the previous payment-methods and reward-catalog pages with a single unified Rewards & Payments experience. It supports monetary and non-monetary rewards, payment vaults with budget controls, reward policies (rules), storage-based coupon codes, bulk actions (approve, deny, hold, fulfill), a reward status history log, and end-to-end fulfillment tracking. Integrations with Tango Card and PayPal were upgraded for faster response times and better error handling.
Loyalty 3.0. A new badge, tier, and task framework with updated admin UI, improved validation, and support for assigning badges directly from automations.
Widgets platform. A new widget engine for embedding Ambassador experiences on your site or landing pages. The 3.0 release ships with Welcome Message and Refer-A-Friend widgets, a visual editor with template library, a preview bookmarklet for testing on any page, and a hosted-landing-page option that lets you publish widgets on an Ambassador subdomain.
Campaigns & Landing Pages. A redesigned campaign setup and edit experience, new "create from template" flows for campaigns and automations, support for custom HTML components on landing pages, and a cleaner admin UI for managing URLs and share-link behavior.
Email templates. A new email editor, four dynamic share-link merge tags ({var.sharelink.1-4}) that let a single template serve multiple campaigns, 3.0-specific merge tags across the full object model, and UX improvements throughout the template section.
Orders, Products, and Referral Attributions. Dedicated admin pages for listing and manually managing orders (including line items and external order IDs), products, and referral attributions, backed by new v2 API endpoints.
Portal 2. Updated advocate-facing portal with new rewards, metrics, and referral experiences aligned with the 3.0 data model.
Encrypted fields & infrastructure. Sensitive fields now use envelope encryption backed by AWS KMS with per-company keys and a built-in rotation system. Core services (API, Celery workers, Embassy) migrated to ECS for better scalability and deployment safety, with a soft-shutdown mechanism to protect in-flight workflow executions during deploys.
