Ambassador 3.1 Release — "Storefront, SMS & Dashboards"

Send SMS to your advocates, new Storefront for reward redemption, and get a clearer view of performance with five new dashboards. Here's everything that's new in Ambassador 3.1.

Released: December 31, 2025

Overview

Ambassador 3.1 expands the platform with a complete SMS-based messaging channel powered by Twilio, the new Storefront experience for advocate-facing reward redemption, and a suite of operational dashboards covering email, SMS, channels, advocates, and financials. This release also lays the foundation for Hiro, our AI-assistant initiative, and introduces role-based access control (RBAC) groundwork.

What's New

SMS messaging (via Twilio). Send transactional and marketing SMS directly from Ambassador. The release includes a full SMS workspace — template editor, SMS table, and "create from template" flow — plus automation outcomes for sending SMS, a widget component for capturing phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent, support for multiple Twilio numbers (separating marketing and transactional), rate-limiting controls, and a consent-history log. An SMS activity dashboard and "Communication Outcome" page give you visibility across email and SMS together.

Storefront. A new advocate-facing storefront for reward redemption. It supports a custom domain, branded login customization, a dedicated auth flow, email templates with a storefront_link merge tag, payment methods (2.x and 3.x), fulfillment methods, and its own metrics surfaced in Portal and Admin 3. Storefront login attempts are tracked for security and support.

Dashboards. Five new admin dashboards: Email, SMS, Financial, Channels, and Advocates. Each combines charts and activity tables built on a new reusable component framework.

Link Shortener. A new first-party link shortener used across SMS, widgets, and historical MBSY links, with conversion-metric tracking so you can measure click-through performance.

Widgets enhancements. New SMS, coupon-code, and Loyalty (task/tier/badge) widget templates, a new phone-number input component, cookies and localStorage backward-compatibility with existing installations, a more secure JS API delivery approach, and improved modal widget behavior.

Emails & Automations. Dynamic-field merge tags in emails and automations, array-based merge tags (so a single tag can render a list of objects), new "communication outcome" pages, and additional automation filter/outcome options. The email editor received fixes for tricky migrated templates and merge-tab saving.

Campaigns, Integrations, and Loyalty. Campaign cloning now lets you pick the name and program at clone time. The integrations section was refactored to follow the new design. Loyalty tiers can now be configured based on referral revenue or referral count (not only points), and loyalty program definitions were updated to match the new structure.
