API Migration - For $0 commissions
Migration guidance for changes needed if you are using API: event record to create $0 commissions in Ambassador.

Used as a work around to create a referral attribution at an early stage before a real commission is created.
Ambassador 3 Migration Changes Needed
For most use-cases, we recommend replacing the event/record specifically used when creating a $0 commission with referral_attribution/record. Then, when it's time to create the commission/reward with a value, you'll replace that event/record with order/record.
More about this change
We recommend using this to create the referral connection between a referred contact and the advocate who referred them at an earlier stage than conversion (such as lead submission or account creation) when you previously created a $0 commission. This will create the contact in Ambassador as a prospect and the Referral Attribution between them and the advocate who referred them.
To supplement this, Ambassador team will help you setup an Automation in Ambassador 3 that puts the referred contact in the first stage of a journey and sends an email or sms notification to the referrer if desired.
