Smart Redirect for Landing Pages

Send people to the right page automatically, based on their location, device, or language.

Overview

Smart Redirects allows you to automatically send users to different landing pages or app pages based on enrichment signals collected at the moment a share link is clicked. These signals include the user's location, device, and language. When a matching Smart Redirect rule is found, the user is seamlessly redirected to the destination page defined in the platform.

This feature supports deep linking, enabling redirects directly into a mobile app rather than a web page.

Use cases

  • Location-based content: Show dynamic content tailored to a user's region or country.
  • Franchise routing: Redirect users to their nearest franchise's website based on their location.
  • Device targeting: Send Android or iOS users to their respective app store pages or in-app experiences.
  • Language targeting: Direct users to a localized version of a page based on their browser language.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • An active Landing Page configured in the platform.
  • Smart Redirect rules defined for the relevant signals (location, device, and/or language).

Set up Smart Redirects

  1. Navigate to Pages & Widgets in your dashboard.
  2. Click on Landing Pages.
  3. Create a new landing page or edit an existing one.
  4. Toggle the Smart Redirects option to enable it.
  5. Create one or more Smart Redirect rules by defining the signal conditions and the destination page.
    • Example: When user device is Android → redirect to Android app page.
  6. Save your changes.

Note: If multiple rules match a user's signals, the platform will apply the most specific matching rule. If no rules match, the user is sent to the default landing page.

How it works

  1. A user clicks on a share link.
  2. The platform identifies the user's location, device, and language.
  3. The platform checks if any Smart Redirect rules match the user's signals.
  4. If a match is found, the user is redirected to the destination page set in the matching rule.
  5. If no match is found, the user lands on the default landing page.

Deep linking

Smart Redirects supports deep linking, so you can send people directly to a specific screen inside your mobile app instead of a mobile web page. It's a nice way to move someone from a share link into a real in-app experience without an extra tap.
