How to Change a User’s Profile or Permissions
Modify an internal user's information, role assignment, or notification groups.
Users with Full Access to Users & Roles, can edit user records—including their own.

Step 1: Open the Users Page
Navigate to Admin & Configuration > Users & Roles > Select Users tab.
Step 2: Locate the User & Select Edit
- Use the search field or browse the Users table to find the user you want to update.
- Then, select the user and click Edit.
Step 3: Update User Information
Within the popup window, make the necessary changes. Then, review & Save.
Administrators or users with Full Access permissions to Users & Roles can update:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Job Title
- Phone Number
- Role assignment
- If you need to customize the role permissions instead of selecting an alternative existing role, you can click “Customize..” to create a new role and update permissions for it.
- Notification groups
Important: Changes to a user's role take effect immediately after saving.
Who Can Update User Information?
Only users with Full Access to the Users & Roles section can update user records.
This includes:
- Editing other users
- Editing their own user profile
- Updating role assignments
- Managing notification group assignments
Users without access to Users & Roles cannot modify user records or their own.
Best Practices
- Review user access when responsibilities change.
- Remove access that is no longer needed.
- Use groups to manage notification recipients.
- Periodically review user roles to ensure permissions remain appropriate.
